DAILY RACING FORM

ISSUED EVERY DAY.

DAILY RACING FORM PUBLISHING CO

Editor, F. H. Beunell.

MILWAUKEE RACING PROSPERS.

Milwaukee, Wis., Aui?. 8.— Charley Hughes
bought Domitor for $2,000 just before his race
to-day. Hughes also settled the claim of George
Campbell against McNaughton and Muir and
the latter’s horses, including Semper Lex, Defar-
gilla and Judge Denny will be shipped from
Cincinnati to-morrow.

Two extra cars were put on the special train
from Chicago to-day, and the trip going and
coming was made in record time. The crowd
was big. Fourteen books drew in and each
handled an average of $700 to a race.

Phil (’hinn bought Orion from Oots Bros, to-
day. The price paid for him was $5,000.

WOODARD & SHANKuIN’S SALE.

The Woodard & Shanklin sale to be held at
Detroit Monday evening should be the best of
the year for the west. It will offer to horsemen
the choicest of the Kentucky crop of 1895 from
such high class establishments as Melbourne,
Haitland, Beaumont, Fleetwood, Melrose and
Shadeland. Kentucky reports about the in-
dividuals in the band are high. A better lot
was never sent from the land of limestone and
blue grass to the sales ring.

MILWAUKEE FORM.

Milwaukee, Wis., August 8.— The form of
Monday’s State Park fields is as follows :

First Race— Joe Mancini, The Sculptor, Fer-
ryman II.

Second Race— Milwaukee, Whirlaway, Boarder.

CHICAGO CROWDS AT MILWAUKEE.

The Chicago racing train to Milwaukee is an
established success. Its service is superb.
Starting over the Northwestern tracks which
are smooth and as safe as United States bonds
the train makes the run to the State Park
Jockey Club’s gates in less than two hours.
Yesterday’s trip was made in one hour and
forty-three minutes. It carried nearly two hun-
dred (Chicago people to Milwaukee. They en-
joyed an afternoon of first-class racing and were
back in Chicago at 7 :50 p.m. .starting at 6 o’clock.
The round trip on the Northwestern fecial and
admission to the track costs $3. There is a
parlor and dining car on the train, and the gen-
eral service is excellent. In addition to the splen-
did racing at Milwaukee, there is a foreign hook
of breadth and liberality in operation at the
State Park track. The country about the
North-Western’s special trio is full of beauty

and the Milwaukee course itself one of the most
picturesque, in both e<^ipmentand natural eye-
ability, in the world. The train is on the dot as
to time. It leaves the Wells Street depot at 11
a. m. and makes the home trip in the same pre-
cise fashion. After the arrival of Thursday’s
train, Mr. A. J. Levy wired press agent Keough
here that the service was admirable and that
good people were in attendance.

A big party of representative Chicago sports-
men took the train from Chicago Friday and
got through in the usual good time.

DETROIT RACING FORM.

The Detroit depot for Daily Racing Form
is the Russell House news stand. It will be on
sale there on and after Tuesday by 9 o’clock in
